Job Description

We are currently working with our internationally recognised client based in Manchester to recruit an experienced Payroll Training Manager. This is a fantastic business with hugely exciting growth plans, leading their field in the provision of payroll services across a diverse portfolio of clients.\n\nThe Payroll Training Manager is responsible for developing, delivering, and embedding a comprehensive learning and development framework across the payroll function. Working alongside the payroll leadership teams, the role will ensure all payroll professionals possess the technical knowledge, legislative understanding and operational capability required to deliver an exceptional payroll service.

This role combines expertise in payroll operations with professional training, coaching and talent development.\n\nIf you want to be part of an exciting forward thinking dynamic business then please apply or contact me directly.\n\nKey Duties/Tasks:\n\nLearning & Development Strategy\n\nDesign and implement a payroll training and development strategy aligned to business objectives.\nCreate structured learning pathways for payroll professionals at all levels.\nDevelop competency frameworks and skills matrices across the payroll function.\nBuild and maintain career progression pathways that support employee development and succession planning. \n\nTechnical Payroll Training\n\nDeliver engaging classroom, virtual and one-to-one payroll training sessions.\nProvide technical payroll training covering PAYE, NI, Statutory Payments, Pension Auto-Enrolment, Year-End Processes etc. \n\nOnboarding & Induction\n\nDesign and deliver comprehensive induction programmes for new payroll employees.\nEnsure all new starters receive structured onboarding and role-specific training.

\n\nSkills, Knowledge & Experience\n\nEssential\n\nSignificant operational payroll experience within a bureau or high-volume payroll environment.\nComprehensive understanding of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements.\nExperience processing payroll end-to-end.\nExperience designing and delivering training programmes, including creating own materials\nStrong coaching and mentoring capability.\nAbility to simplify complex payroll concepts for varying levels of experience.\nStrong stakeholder management and influencing skills.\nExperience identifying skills gaps and implementing development plans. \n\nDesirable\n\nCIPP qualification or equivalent payroll qualification.\nTraining qualification (CIPD, Level 3 Award in Education and Training, Coaching qualification or equivalent).\nExperience within a payroll bureau environment.\nExperience creating e-learning content.\nExperience developing competency frameworks and career pathways. \n\nINDBRI\n\n51851GO\n\nThe Portfolio Group are acting on behalf of our client in recruiting for this position
